SallyAnn Dierkens, age 78, of Sedalia, died Wednesday, March 10, 2010 in Hot Springs, AR.

She was born May 31, 1931, in St. Louis, MO, the daughter of Earl Emerson and Lucille (Tuck) Candy. On January 8, 1977, she married Frederick George Dierkens, who preceded her in death on February 14, 2010.

She was a 1949 graduate of Paseo High School. She worked as an assistant buyer for Peck's Department Store in Kansas City and in the credit department of Rich Conver. After moving to Sedalia, she was a buyer for Roth's clothing store. She was a faithful and active member of St. Patrick Church. She loved flowers and enjoyed fishing with her husband at the Lake.

Surviving are two daughters, Carol Betz (Frankie) and Candy Hickman, all of Columbia; four stepchildren, Frederick G. Dierkens, Jr., of Leavenworth, KS, Linda (Charles) Foreman, of Blue Springs, Patricia (James) Krstolich, of Kansas City, KS, and William R. (Caroline) Dierkens, of Kansas City, MO; a brother, Robert Earl Candy, of Hot Springs, AR; a granddaughter, Maria Betz; seven step grandchildren James P. (Delia) Krstolich, Adam (Melanie) Dierkens, Julia (David) Mattingly, Jason (Sherri) Alexander, Melynda (Matt) Lyon, Andrew Dierkens, Matthew Dierkens; two great-granddaughters, Zara Betz and Zoe Betz; 11 step great-grandchildren James "Jimmy K" Krstolich, Jordan Dierkens, Avery Krstolich, Lyric Dierkens, Zachary Mattingly, Julianna Krstolich, Max Lyon, Addison Alexander, Michael Dierkens, Emily Mattingly and Noah Dierkens; a great nephew, Kyle Candy; special friends, Dick and Mimi Kraus, of LaMonte, Ed Seamons, Floyd and Nila Tinker, Dee McFadden and Debbie Magdaleno, all of Sedalia; and many relatives and friends.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 am on Thursday, March 18, 2010 at St. Patrick Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. Timothy Armbruster officiating. Pallbearers will be Bill Dierkens, Matt Dierkens, Dick Kraus, Chuck Mattingly, Jim Muin, Bob Watson and Bret Williams. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.

The Rosary will be prayed at 6pm on Wednesday, March 17, 2010 at McLaughlin Funeral Chapel, Sedalia with visitation to follow until 8pm.

Doris Avon Campbell, 80, passed away March 10th, 2010 in Austin, Texas.

She was born December 26, 1929, in Kansas City, Missouri, daughter of Arthur Manford Chambers and Alice Mountjoy Chambers. On November 7, 1948, in Grandview, Missouri she married Charles Leslie Campbell who predeceased her in 2004.

Mrs. Campbell was a resident of LaMonte for 48 years until she moved to Austin, TX to be with her family. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Sedalia, Missouri, and a member of the Adult VII Joy Class. She was a member of the Prime Time Singers enjoying singing in nursing homes. She was a member of the National Honor Society and the American Business Women's Association for 30 years. Mrs. Campbell was a retired federal worker, having worked in the Alaskan Air Command from 1953 – 1955. She completed her career at Whiteman AFB in Supply, USAF Hospital, Base Billeting and Civilian Personnel. She retired in 1987. After retirement, she served as secretary to the Executive Director of the Whiteman Area Steering Council.

Mrs. Campbell served as pianist and organist in the LaMonte Baptist Church for 20 years, taught a youth class, was church clerk, and served as the historian, preparing the 100 year history for the centennial celebration in 1974. Her greatest pleasures were homemaking, sewing for her granddaughter, crocheting, quilting and doing counted cross-stitch projects for her friends. She is a Christian and loved her Lord and her family.

Survivors include a son and daughter in law, Kit L. and Rozlyn L. Campbell, a granddaughter, Loree Avon Campbell all of Austin, TX; a brother, Arthur M. Chambers Jr., Westerville, Ohio; and six nieces and three nephews.

Funeral Services will be at 2:00 on Wednesday, March 17th in LaMonte at the Moore Funeral Home, with Dr. Drew Hill officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Pallbearers are: Chester Kirkpatrick, Bobbie Lee, Leonard Singer, Herschel Cantrell and Jim Woodall. Honorary Pallbearers are: Johnnie & Jackie Lee and all members of the Adult VI and VII Sunday school classes at the First Baptist Church. Also, John Mothersbaugh, Doris Gill, Mary Merritt, Stan & Myrna Ragar, Owen & Elaine Russell, Mary Hays, Betty McDaniel, Jim & Juanita Ripley, Peggy Moore and John and Helen Jones.

Burial will be in the LaMonte cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions to Sedalia First Baptist Church memorial fund or the Gideons International, in care of the funeral home.

Claude F. Jackson, 88, of Sedalia, died Thursday, March 11, 2010 at Four Seasons Retirement Center.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 17, 2010 at Alexander May Funeral Home. Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9-11 a.m. Wednesday at the Funeral Home.

Claude Jackson was born October 7, 1921 in Sedalia, the son of Emmett Jackson and Otelia Fields.

Survivors include his nieces and nephews, Rosemary James, Emmett Jackson III, Herbert Jones, Carol Brown, Wyatt Jackson Jr., Michael A. Jackson, ALecia Luchin, Bonita Nash, William Jackson, Donald Jackson and Martin Jackson.

Lottie Rose Reed, 70, of Sedalia, passed away, Monday, March 15, 2010, at her home.

Arrangements are pending at Rea Funeral Chapel and Cremation Services.

Betty L. Vlademar, 83, of Sedalia, died Monday, March 15, 2010 at her home.

Services will be held at Leavenworth National Cemetery at a later date.

Arrangements are under the direction of McLaughlin Funeral Chapel.

Larry Hartman, 65, of Stover, died Sunday, March 14, at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City.

Services will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday, March 18, at Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home, Versailles.

Opal "Gram" Gaffney, 100, of rural Lincoln, died Saturday, March 13, 2010, at Good Samaritan Care Center, Cole Camp.
