Thanks for making 2009 Tractor Cruise success

To the Editor:
Thank you to the participants, the people and businesses of Sedalia and Pettis County, and all others who supported the Fourth Annual Sedalia Sunrise Optimist Tractor Cruise. Our club could not have held this event without your participation, support, and contributions. We were honored to have Mayor Horn and a representative from Optimist International join us. The cruise was very successful and the weather superb!
Drivers of 40 tractors and the driversı families and friends came to the two-day event not only from Pettis County and Missouri, but also from surrounding states.  They were quite complimentary of the reception they received from the people of Sedalia, Green Ridge, Pettis County, Show-Me Christian Youth Home, and the Rod and Gun Club, the latter two being our destination sites on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.  Cruisers said they will attend next yearıs cruise and will return during the year to other events in Sedalia and Pettis County. Thank you for helping make them feel so welcome that they are drawn back!
Thank you to everyone who exhibited kindness, assistance, and support to our attendees.  To those who were tolerant and patient during the traffic stops as the tractors crossed streets and highways and to those who may have had their travel times lengthened due to our slow moving vehicles, thank you!
Thank you to those associated with Show-Me Christian Youth Home for their clearing a tree from the tractor route prior to Saturday, warm welcome, serving a wonderful meal, program, and facility tour.  Since Optimists are known as ³The Friends of Youth², this destination was a special treat for the Optimists and the cruisers!
Thank you to the many individuals and businesses that contributed products, prizes, in-kind services or time to the Cruise.  Space does not allow for each of you to be listed, but you were recognized throughout the Cruise and during the door prizes drawing.  The assistance of the multi-city/county law enforcement agencies, Missouri State Highway Patrol, Pettis County EMA, FFA, Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts was greatly appreciated.  The media coverage from newspapers and radio stations was exceptional.  To anyone who helped or supported the Cruise in any way, thank you!
Sedalia Sunrise Optimist Club could not have succeeded in this endeavor without such wonderful support.  We look forward to working with all of you again next year for an even bigger and better Fifth Annual Sunrise Optimist Tractor Cruise!

Most sincerely,
Sunrise Optimist Club
